The portfolio, “Animals Telling a Story” is a fascinating presentation depicting how animals demonstrate intelligence, emotion, and reasoning. It is fascinating how animals experience emotion and behave instinctively just like you. As an artist, I strive to create beautiful realistic images of my subjects. I have always been taught, “to push your creativity”, and “art must have a story”, and “as an artist, if you have something to say and it is worth saying, then use your medium to communicate”. There is a lot of artistic talent, creativity, and expertise in the world of animal artists. Differentiation is fundamental in establishing your artistic presence amongst a very crowded field.

The visual stories I try to tell are often tied to contemporary events. I’m trying to raise awareness, stimulate conversation and have the audience look beyond the beautiful image of an animal. Patrons of the Arts need to go beyond the common refrain, "isn't that beautiful", and really see the story unfolding in front of their eyes. The audience should conclude after seeing my work, "Isn't that beautiful, and those animal personalities within the painting capture the essence of the story in one single frame." The Artist often plays with subtle visual hints to complete the story. Look for those subtle characteristics in words, symbolism, and acronyms. The above image is titled “Mar a Lago Calling” which is a satire on Trump wanting to win the hearts and minds of the Republican party.
